Q: How has MEMO helped/changed you?
A: MEMO helped open my eyes to the many different causes worthy of our support. It gave me outlets to help those in need and explore my passions within service. Because of MEMO, I have gotten to learn and refine skills in and outside of medicine. But, above all, MEMO has given me amazing friends and a community I can call home.

Q: Advice to new/current MEMObers?
A: Branch out and make yourself uncomfortable! College is all about brand new experiences, and if you’re too comfortable, you’re not in the right place. Put yourself out there, go up to random people and compliment them, and never be afraid to be authentic. People will love you regardless of your quirks ;)

Q: Why did you join MEMO?

A: I joined MEMO after seeing the first GBM chalked on a board in my lecture hall! It caught my attention that it was an organization that focused on medical and educations needs which lined up with what I was looking for. At first, I thought it’d be fun to come and get the free Canes, but after seeing the mission video, I felt very drawn to what this organization was really about and found that I wanted to pour my own time into it!

Q: Advice to new/current MEMObers?

A: Don’t be afraid to show up, even if it feels a little scary or new! Sometimes just being there is all it takes to meet amazing people, make fun MEMOries, and find your home. MEMO’s community is so welcoming, and you never know which small moment will turn into something unforgettable!â•°(*´ï¸¶`*)╯♡

Q: Advice to new/current MEMObers
A: Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there! Some of my closest friends in MEMO came from just stepping out of my comfort zone and talking to MEMObers at events. We host so many events each quarter that cater to all kinds of interests, so there’s something for everyone <3

Q: Advice to new/current MEMObers?
A: It can feel scary to take the first step toward your goals. Towards an interview, an internship, a career- the important thing is to not focus on the fear falling. Rather, realizing that taking that step will bring you closer to your genuine dreams and aspirations, even if you must take a step back to find a staircase forward. That “first-step” feeling is excitement not terror.

Q: Favorite MEMOry?
A: One of my favorite memories was my first Project Access event, where we helped kids in that neighborhood with homework and then played kickball with them. It was my first real service event with MEMO, and the person-to-person interaction made me feel really engaged with the community and drew me back to MEMO.
